| May 2009 Dear Family and Friends, We are saddened to inform you that our little daughter Sofia was recently diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Although we are devastated with the diagnosis, we believe in her good prognosis, and very hopeful that with help of loving God, the professional medical team will do everything possible, so Sofia would get cured. From speaking with some family members and friends, we realize that our loved ones may like to offer support at this difficult time, for which we are truly grateful. Currently our greatest need is in securing blood donations for Sofia’s treatment. She is undergoing treatment at Hackensack University Medical Center. Part of the treatment regime for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia includes 2.5 years of chemotherapy and blood transfusions. During these initial stages of her treatment, blood donation is of particular importance. So if blood donation is something you are physically able and willing to do, such a gift for our daughter would contribute to an essential part of her treatment. While we would love to contact you each personally with the news, please understand that now we are focusing our energy on Sofia’s treatment. Blood donations for Sofia can be made, as follows: Call 201-996-4819 and ask for Nadia Nahnooch with the Blood Donor Service and tell her that you would like to donate blood for STAKHYRA, Sofia.
