Roulette is one of the most popular casino games in the world, although at first glance the tables can be intimidating. In fact, once you get into the right perspective, roulette is a rather simple attraction to understand and play. The standard roulette structure is that you can bet on any single number, rather than a combination of numbers.
Other possible options involve betting on any number between 1 and 36, as well as on “0” and “00”. Each game begins when the dealer spins the roulette wheel in one direction and immediately throws a ball towards the inside edge of the wheel, but in the opposite direction. The game will end when the ball stops in one of the sectors of the wheel, determining the winning number.
Roulette types of bets
Roulette provides different types of bets within the table:
- Full. The bet involves the choice of a single number.
- Horse. The bet involves the choice of two adjacent numbers, vertically and horizontally.
- Triplet. The bet involves the choice of three numbers belonging to a single horizontal line.
- Carré. The bet involves the choice of four numbers that will form a square.
- Sestina. The bet involves the choice of six adjacent numbers at the same time.
In addition to the internal ones, it is possible to make bets outside the table:
- Column. The bet takes place on one of the three vertical lines (right, left and central), then on 12 numbers simultaneously.
- Dozen. The bet takes place on 12 numbers in three adjacent lines in one of the three available areas: first, second and third dozen.
- Tall or short. The bet takes place on low numbers from 1 to 18, or high numbers from 19 to 36.
- Red or black. The bet takes place on red or black rather than on a number.
- Even or odd. The bet takes place either on odd or even numbers.
Roulette can be of different types, and each of these has particularities on the table. Therefore, depending on the chosen gaming platform, you will be able to find French, European, American and classic roulette.
Blackjack is the most loved card game
Another popular game besides roulette is blackjack. Blackjack is probably the most loved card game in the world, and not having heard of it at least once is not possible.
Blackjack is one of those rather simple card games. The goal of the game is to get a hand with a score as close as possible to 21 compared to the dealer’s result, but without going over that score. The challenge therefore is between the player and the dealer. Blackjack is played through a 52-card deck, but in this case without jokers.
There is a major standard version of blackjack spread all over the world, plus a few variations. Some are almost identical to the original. Others, on the other hand, have substantial differences. In any case, in the classic mode you will have to make a basic decision at the beginning of the game, namely whether to ask for a card or alternatively leave it alone. Obviously this is a very important decision for every player.
The dealer has instead an obligation, that is to ask for a card when the score is less than or equal to 16. Clearly if the value of your cards will be less than 17, you will have low chances of winning. All this unless the dealer gets high. If the value of your hand is less than 17, and the dealer shows a king, queen, ace, jack, 10, 9 or 8, it would be advisable to hit instead.
To raise the stakes, the fastest way is to double every time a favorable opportunity arises. This can lead to doubling your stake, and consequently the payout could cost you double if done at the wrong time. Furthermore, you must always keep in mind that luck always plays its part in the moment of the random distribution of the cards.
In the event that you have a favorable hand, for example with cards with a total value of 11, it would be advisable to double because in this situation the winning percentages would be in your favor. Just like for doubling, even the action of splitting could prove to be advantageous if done with the right cards, but also counterproductive if it were divided into two losing hands.
You will have to keep in mind never to split 10s and 5. Aces and 8s will always split because a pair of 8’s actually equals 16, and for this reason you can only win if the dealer busts. If, on the other hand, you split into a pair of 8s, the chances of getting two hands with a higher value of 16 will be much higher. Despite these precautions, it is appropriate to make some clarifications.
In reality there are no tactics and strategies that can guarantee winning, also because, as mentioned, there is always the variable of luck in the phase of distributing the cards. The only thing you can do is reduce possible losses by minimizing errors. For example, if you happen to have two cards with a sum of 12 or more, the chances of busting would be very high.
